The McBournie Minute: Lance Armstrong, avid bike rider

Damn you, Lance Armstrong.

For those of you who haven’t heard by now, Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his seven Tour de France (or in English, “Tour of France”) titles amid some pretty conclusive evidence that he was doping the whole time. He has been battling these allegations for years, but a recent report was the nail in the coffin for him. I’m not upset with him because he cheated. Who says there’s no honor among thieves?

In the days of yore, it was said that the only people with any honor were the chivalrous knights and their lords. Thieves were a cowardly lot full of curs, lacking any form of honor whatsoever, ready to rob and kill anyone at a moment’s notice. Of course, as history has proven, those same characteristics can be applied toward anyone, no matter how low or high their standing.

But today, we live in the 21st century! It is a new day and age! While we may not live in a golden age of jet-packs (as we were promised), we do live in a world where honor lies among us all. Impugn the good name and be prepared to answer for it.

One squirrel in New Jersey decided to be an innovator, and ruined the day of countless commuters in the process.

Amtrak and NJ Transit trains, nearly 130 in all, were delayed recently because a squirrel decided to touch a circuit breaker, which caused an electrical transformer to trip shut down the lights that direct engineers.

We can only hope that the squirrel was killed completing its mission.
