The McBournie Minute: It’s raining Social Security numbers

In the modern world, we all must guard our personal information as best as we can. Social media, banks and other important sites get hacked with regularity. Here at SG, we put your personal privacy first, which is why we don’t make you log in to anything here, and we’re too lazy to really care about your personal information, anyway.

However, not all identity theft comes from the Internet, sometimes, they come from some very analog places. Last week, we were all reminded of this when the confetti from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade ended up being shredded police documents.

Now that’s a reason to watch the parade. Continue reading The McBournie Minute: It’s raining Social Security numbers

Nazi pigeon still on the loose

Antisemitic coos are a big clue, too.

Attention, British animal warriors! Be on the lookout for a one-legged septuagenarian pigeon who may, or may not, also sport an eyepatch and a tiny swastika. It appears that the bird, in trying to sabotage Great Britain’s effort in World War II, gnawed off its own leg rather than deliver a vital coded message.

If you find this pigeon, please be careful! Not because it will peck you, but because it has to be very, very brittle by now. The code-breakers from Britain’s main electronic intelligence-gathering agency, Government Communications Headquarters, want that bird alive. Otherwise, who knows when and where Jerry plans to strike next?

The turkey uprising has begun

It happens every year: turkeys taking out their violent tendencies upon unsuspecting and innocent human beings. AND YET, it has happened again!

People in quiet and wholesome Brookside, Massachusetts, have become the unwitting victims of the Thanksgiving bird. A pack of vicious turkeys ambushed a woman and her neighbor at her house, forcing the two to take refuge in her parked vehicle. But the terror wasn’t over. The birds then proceeded to attack the vehicle and THEN her house!

A few weeks later, the same woman was walking in her neighborhood when another pack of turkeys chased after her. She wasn’t as lucky this time. The birds left her with scratches. Loyal SG audience, don’t just eat turkeys at Thanksgiving. Make sure to keep the consumption going.

Christmas hecklers

Now that Thanksgiving is over, the holiday season is officially here, and with it come all of the decorations — and the criticisms of them.

In England, a crowd booed the lighting of a town’s Christmas tree because it looked cheap. The lights looked like common light bulbs, and the rest of the display looked no better than something an ordinary person can do with store-bought decorations. It’s being called as the worst Christmas tree in the country.

Now let’s see how the U.S. responds.
