Because of our tight American-style pants?

Such as we understand women, anyway.Psychologists Cindy Meston and David Buss, from the University of Texas at Austin, have attempted to answer that immortal question: why do women have sex?

There are apparently 237 possible reasons, varying from woman to woman. (Were you suprised?)

We know for a fact, though, that one of those reasons must be “because he didn’t force me under the covers when he farted tonight.”

  1. The reason I had sex was to get married and be taken care of. I hate sex and I hate men. I did love my husband, but I think sex is disgusting and the fact that that is all men want from women and they look at women as nothing more then maids, cooks, their mothers and prostitutes, makes me sick. Both of my husbands proved that point to me perfectly. They both left when I needed them most, when I got diagnosed with a serious illness. So much for wedding vows and love. If you can’t work and be what they want in the bedroom, they’re outta there. No thanks! I gave up men and sex years ago and I have never been happier. Gloria J.

  2. Sex becomes a duty once you’re married for women. Men demand their pleasure but don’t reciprocate. I’ve never met a married woman who had her sexual needs met by her husband. Never. Their pleasure is always more important than their wives. Women take much longer to arouse and do not orgasm during intercourse and they don’t want to take the time even after your concerns have been voiced. sad, really.

  3. This study only shows what a muddle the female mind really is. They always have ulterior motives and very few of them have anything to do with whomever they happen to be naked with at the time. Men have known this for a long time, which is why we want little to do with any part of most them beyond their genitalia.

  4. Their book should be called why STRAIGHT women have sex. *rolls eyes* They go on and on toward the end to make it sound as though their research is so diverse, but 93% of those they interviewed identify as straight. What a waste. -_-

  5. I have sex because I enjoy it! The end.
Studies and articles such as this irritate me so much because they put so much weight on the emotional and esteem issues that so many women have. They also tend to highlight and play up the irrationality of some women.
Sure, it’s easy to say that women as a whole have sex with someone for 237 different reasons, but what about men as a whole? I’m sure that there are some stupid, assinine reasons that men have sex, as well.
Articles like this make it that much easier for women like myself – who have sex simply for enjoyment – to be called “sluts, whores, etc”.
