Eat My Sports: Relaxation, finally

We’re a little over a week into baseball’s postseason, and it’s the most relaxed I’ve been in October in almost five years? Why, you ask? Because the Red Sox are finally not having any impact on my sleep, schedule, wallet or liver this year.

Would I have liked to seen this year’s patchwork lineup somehow sneak in and blow up the whole scene? Sure, I mean which Sox fan is honestly going to say “hell no I don’t want them to have the chance to take out the Yankees.” But in all honesty it’s nice to have a reprieve and not have my stress level shoot through the roof for every pitch every other night.

I want Boston to get back to business next year, because from a baseball perspective, let’s just say that an outfield featuring JD Drew and Mike Cameron isn’t going to win anything. But for now, let’s just say that I can watch in peace.
