He’s just doing what we’re all thinking

Man, unruly people at the movies are the worst! Oh sure, you might think that as the resident film critic over here at SG, that’s a totally biased opinion. Well, person I do not care to speak to, you’d be wrong, as it’s a certifiable fact. Don’t believe me? There are plenty of people who will agree with me, one of which is potentially Yong Hyun Kim.

Kim was enjoying a nice evening out at the cinema with his sweety when he was besieged by a 10 year old! A most unruly child, it must be added! According to Kim, popcorn was being thrown and loud, bothersome noise was being created by the fifth grader and his friends, destroying the fun of going out to the movies. Rather than talking to a manager, Kim allegedly asked them to knock it off. Their impudent response caused him to snap, resulting in him slapping one of them so hard the kid lost a tooth. Respect.

Look, I’m not saying you need to beat the kid … but having a little fear and respect wouldn’t exactly be a bad thing for him.

Fourth rule of robotics: never harm your drama coach

Japan is really pushing this robot thing to new extremes — now it’s encroaching upon the entertainment industry.

The robot Gemini F, which can been seen “acting” in the video in the link, was part of a short play called Sayonara, which was controlled by a team of people off-stage. It’s not exactly the best acting, and according to the actors, it was plenty difficult to work with. Robot divas are such a pain.

Remember people, just because the Uncanny Valley is just over the hill doesn’t mean we need to rush over to cross said hill.

Update: Georgia to plagiarize killer professor’s grave

As we reported earlier this week, police found the corpse of George Zinkhan in a grave he dug and covered with brush before shooting himself.

While most believe it was suicide after killing his wife and two of her theater associates, there’s also the less popular (or, our) theory that he was making his own tiger trap.

Now state and local officials have almost reached an impass about what to do with his body. Zinkhan’s family hasn’t claimed his body despite repeated calls, and after a certain point, even the morgue decides a body stinks too much.

So, unless somebody steps forward, he’ll be reburied in a “pauper’s grave,” begging the question: and they dug him up why?

You know they can’t try a corpse, right?

George Zinkhan, a business professor at the University of Georgia, was found dead from, according to authorities, a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. He committed suicide after killing his wife and two of her theater buddies.

Wait, that’s not very funny. If you’re laughing already, you’re not reading this right and might be sick. (Not that we’d judge you.)

The funny part was that Zinkhan dug his own grave first, covered it with brush and branches and then shot himself. Why? So it would be more difficult for police to find his body.

If you’re planning to kill yourself, here’s some handy advice:

  1. If you’re killing yourself, does it really matter if you’re found? This isn’t the Middle Ages. Nobody’s going to put your corpse on trial, have somebody sit behind you and do your voice and execute your body once found guilty (true story).
  2. Always use the buddy system. If you must hide your body, have a buddy cover your grave with dirt or cement … really, anything that will prevent Corey Feldman from poking you with a stick.

MasterChugs Theater: ‘Closer’

Mike Nichols has directed some classics (Catch 22, The Graduate, Working Girl) and some turkeys (Wolf, Regarding Henry). With Closer he returns to a chamber piece similar to his first feature, Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf, which also dealt with couples trapped in dysfunctional relationships. MasterChugs Theater: ‘Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story’

The tricky thing about parody movies is that the jokes get old fast and they’re hit-and-miss. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story,  the Judd Apatow produced and written spoof of every musical biopic from Ray to Walk the Line, is guilty on both counts. How lucky that when the jokes do hit, they rock. No pun intended. Hit the jump to see why.
