We’re not exactly sure what’s so newsworthy about this, but members of the Hanunuo Mangyan tribe in the Philippines have been doing a ceremony bringing the dead back to life for quite some time. They don’t actually say if it works, according to Reuters, the ritual includes digging up the person a year after they die, cleaning their bones, and wrapping clothing around it so it looks more like a person again.
It can be imagined that some sort of magic words or dance happens over the skeleton. In all likelihood, skeleton then gets up and talks with its relatives, before joining the rest of the undead members of the Hanunuo Mangyan tribe and waiting for the day that they can swarm the Earth and eat our brains.
