There’s a disturbing trend out there, and it’s been around for years: dogs shooting guns. They’re supposedly man’s best friend, but it seems like at least once a year you hear about a dumb hunter who puts down his gun and the dog finds a way to shoot it.
This isn’t one of those stories.
Police in Lawrence, Massachusetts, responded to a complaint of shots fired downtown over the weekend. The search was on for the perp. During a traffic stop of a suspected vehicle, someone got out and threw something in the snowbank. A police dog began digging for the mystery item, only to find that it was a gun, and the dog’s paw somehow fired off a round. Luckily, no one was injured.
They’re watching us and they’re learning.
